William F. Weld, former Governor of Massachusetts, has signed on as an unpaid lobbyist for the McCourt Co. in Seaport District development matters. Weld, describing himself in the role as a friend and not as a (compensated) business representative, appeared on behalf of McCourt interests in meetings last week with the City of Boston and the Boston Redevelopment Authority. see related story re McCourt Silver Line negotiations

Weld did not disclose a relationship with private interests at the recently convened Boston Harbor Conference.
