On February 19, 1998 at a 7:00 PM Boston City Council Hearing in South Boston, the Boston Redevelopment Authority announced it has moved to create an Interim Planning Overlay District (IPOD) which will limit development in the entire Seaport District to a maximum height of 150 feet.

Because zoning height restrictions are often used as a tool to draw linkage payments from developers who wish to exceed their stated limits, a comprehensive Seaport Master Plan must be considered before we at SAND can be certain of the measure's true intent.
