The McCourt Company has agreed with the City of Boston to swap land parcels in order to accomodate the MBTA's planned $500 million Transitway. In exchange for land including the parcel required for completion of the T station, the McCourt Co. will gain waterfront property at the corner of old Northern Ave. and East Service Rd., near Harborlights. The City has a two year grace period to work out this transaction with current property owners, Anthony Athanas and the Pritzker family of Chicago. McCourt Co. also received an easement to link its inner harbor land to the Convention Center, in preparation for a planned hotel at that site.
