The Boston Redevelopment Authority has selected Cooper, Robertson & Partners as urban planning consultants for preparation of the South Boston Seaport District Master Plan draft scheduled to be published in October 1998. The team, one of nine that responded to the BRA's request for proposals, must use the brief term of this contract to corral the efforts of the BRA, city planners, and various public and private interests with an eye on seaport development.
The BRA has assured community groups including SAND that the consultants will have an opportunity to review concerns, although a meeting between these groups and the consultants has not been scheduled. SAND will be providing Cooper, Robertson & Partners with a summary of its outlook towards development of a waterfront neighborhood as opposed to a commercial district lined with hotel and office towers.
