Dear Kyle:

Thank you for your letter of June 18, responding to our earlier comments as addressed to the Boston Redevelopment Authority and posted on our website. We will dedicate a SAND core group meeting to discuss your points and will respond further after that review.

The main elements of SAND's critique of the current Fan Pier proposal remain our primary focus, namely that 1) the projected residential unit count is insufficient, especially in proportion to office/hotel and other commercial components and 2) recreational open space is severely inadequate. These views are not isolated to our community group and we expect others will weigh in during the upcoming public comment period. Fan Pier should set the tone for waterfront development as the anchor of an emerging neighborhood.

We look forward to working with you to reach common ground on these issues.

Best regards,

Steve Hollinger
