In order to alleviate traffic problems between the South Boston Seaport District and Back Bay Hotels, the Boston Transportation Department is floating proposals for a new exit ramp off the Mass Turnpike in Back Bay. The most recent proposal, a "slingshot" ramp above ground west of the Prudential Center is being considered by the Strategic Development Study Committee, a citizen's panel reviewing Mass Pike proposals city-wide.
